Not Leaving Medium After Publishing 76 Articles for September 2022
I almost bade goodbye — until I gave it another try
Too many saying goodbye or leaving Medium on my feed — I understand how they feel. I eventually became a crybaby this year when I saw my income drop to $15 this January.
I started strong in late 2020 during the height of the pandemic season. In my first five months on this platform, I was still earning less than $10.
In April, May — and June 2021 — Medium introduced a bonus scheme. I have reached the $100 club — and added $1,200 more — for receiving that extra money.
And then I slowed down because life got in the way. From publishing 15 to 18 articles maximum, it eventually dropped to three to two articles per month until December 2021.
I joined Medium because I love writing. And when I get paid for what I love to do, it amazes me.
If you have not earned that much — writers always point to the algorithm (yes, I am with them too) — but as a new writer -do not ignore the self-development part.
The reason I slowed down (other than having so much on my plate) is not adapting new systems in writing.
